Forum Post: RE: LoggerSM overwrite

Hi Todd,

The .zip attached to this post contains the loggerSM binary file (decode False) which is used in System Analyzer and the text file (decode True) that shows information about loggerSM (loggerSM_dumpSharedMem function) then logs (loggerSM_run function). You will notice that there is only one log that is shown.

For a better understanding, I also put two screenshots from the memory browser:
     - one is loggerSM decode false and overwrite true : I deliberatly selected the readPtr address value on the memory browser so you can notice that the only event in the text file is the one pointed by readPtr. You can also see that the pointer is not exactly at the beginning of the event.

     - the other is LoggerSM decode false and overwrite false : I put this screenshot because I found strange the fact that in this case all the logs are written the same way. I mean you have the sequence number, then T:000....( maybe the event id) and then text with information about the event (ex: ti.sysbios.knl.semaphore S:LM_post: sem ....). Whereas if you look at the previous screenshot (when overwrite is true) you don't have all information about the event after the first event (from the readPtr value).

If you can help me solving this problem, it would be very helpful.

Thanks,

Nad
