Forum Post: Flash write of Kernel from Linux not working in DM3730

Hi,

I am trying to flash write kernel image to NAND flash from Linux command line (booted from SD card) in Panther board (DM3730 processor). But when booting , u-boot shows the error "Error: Bad compare! failed".  If u-boot image is also written from linux, u-boot is not even loading.  If I write kernel or u-boot to NAND from u-boot, it is booting without issues.

I have read in some threads about the mis-match in the ECC layout followed by U-Boot and Linux.  But the fixes provided are for Davinci series processor,  like setting CONFIG_SYS_DAVINCI_BROKEN_ECC option.

Please let know whether there is a solution for this issue for the DM3730 processor ?

Thanks

Shafy
